Idyl (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is published by Ventiq LLC. Idyl estimates your daily energy expenditure and body composition. This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect. Idyl is built to be private by design.
Idyl does not require an account and does not ask for your name or email. The measurements you enter — your weight, waist, and other body metrics — are stored on your device, not on our servers. We use privacy-respecting analytics and crash reporting to improve the app, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
The information you provide during setup and daily use — including your sex, age, height, weight, waist, neck and hip measurements, body-fat estimates, energy ratings, activity level, goals, and any notes — is stored locally in the app’s private storage on your device. It is not uploaded to Ventiq LLC and is not synced to any server. Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
If you choose to connect Idyl to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), Idyl reads a limited set of data — such as your activity, steps, and weight — solely to calibrate your estimated daily burn. This data is read on your device and used to compute your metrics. Idyl does not currently write data back to Health, and this health data is never transmitted to Ventiq LLC or sold. Connecting is optional, and you can revoke access at any time in your device’s Health or Health Connect settings.
Idyl uses PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which screens are viewed and whether setup was completed — so we can improve it. These are anonymous, event-level measurements tied to a random installation identifier. They do not include your name or email, and Idyl does not include third-party advertising SDKs or track you across other companies’ apps or websites. PostHog may process limited technical data such as device type and IP address to deliver the service. See posthog.com/privacy.
Idyl uses Sentry to receive diagnostic reports when the app encounters an error or crash. These reports contain technical information about the app state and device at the time of the problem and help us fix bugs. They are not used to identify you. See sentry.io/privacy.
Idyl offers an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We use the platform’s in-app purchase system and a third-party service, RevenueCat, Inc., to process and validate subscriptions and to determine whether your subscription is active.

If you enable reminders, Idyl schedules local notifications on your device to prompt you to check in. These are generated on your device and are not sent through our servers.
Idyl provides estimates for general wellness and informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.
Idyl is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can revoke Health access at any time in your device settings. You can cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app removes the measurements and settings stored on your device.
